ASSESSMENTS & REPORTS

Independent reports that help you make confident, informed decisions

A written report from a licensed elevator mechanic — designed for owners, buyers, families, churches, and property managers who want clarity before approving repairs, signing a contract, or buying a property with an elevator.

ARE YOU DEALING WITH THIS?

Common situations a report can help you with

Just received a major repair quote and aren’t sure what’s actually being proposed?
Considering buying a property with an elevator and want to know what you’re inheriting?
Planning a stairlift, platform lift, or home elevator and want independent guidance?
Stuck with recurring elevator problems that no one seems able to explain?
Trying to evaluate whether your maintenance contract is giving you value?
Wondering if a part replacement (hoses, batteries, buttons, doors) is really needed?
Coordinating contractors and electricians on a lift project that’s getting tangled?
Need a written report you can share with family, a board, an insurer, or a buyer?

REPORT TYPES

Ten kinds of independent assessments & reports

Each report is tailored to your situation. If your need doesn’t fit cleanly into one of these, get in touch — we’ll find the right approach.
A

Elevator Condition Report

Independent walk-through and written report on existing elevator condition, ride quality, visible issues, recurring problems, and priorities for owners and managers.
B

Repair Quote Second Opinion

Review of a major repair quote you’ve received — scope, parts, justification, missing information, and questions to ask before approving the work.
C

Common Parts & Repair Review

Focused review of common part recommendations (hoses, batteries, buttons, door components, switches) — typical purpose, likely necessity, and what to ask.
D

Maintenance Quality Review

Independent review of current maintenance, visible care of the equipment, recurring service calls, and whether the maintenance approach fits the building.
E

Maintenance Contract Review

Plain-language review of your maintenance contract — what’s included, what’s excluded, common gotchas, and questions for your provider before renewal.
F

Pre-Purchase Elevator Assessment

For buyers, realtors, churches, or commercial purchasers — understand the existing elevator equipment before closing on the property.
G

Accessibility Lift Assessment

Independent guidance on stairlifts, platform lifts, porch lifts, wheelchair lifts, or home elevators — brand, configuration, electrical, and installation considerations for your home or building.
H

Site Readiness Review

Pre-installation review of site conditions — electrical, landings, framing, concrete, clearances, weather exposure — so installation goes smoothly.
I

Accessibility Lift Condition Report

Walk-through and written report on an existing stairlift, platform lift, porch lift, wheelchair lift, or home elevator — condition, age, recommendations.
J

Recurring Problem Review

Focused review of repeat elevator problems — shutdowns, callbacks, door issues, leveling, hydraulics — to identify likely patterns and underlying causes.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What your report may include

Each report is tailored to your specific situation. Below are the elements that typically appear in a RightLift assessment or report — customized to your equipment, your concerns, and what will actually help you decide.

Equipment overview

Make, type, age, location, observed condition, and visible wear of the existing elevator or accessibility lift.

Visible issues & risks

Items observed during the walk-through that warrant attention — prioritized by urgency and likely cost.

Service & recurring issue summary

Where service records are available, a summary of recurring problems, repeat callbacks, and what they may indicate.

Quote review (if applicable)

For quote reviews: scope analysis, missing information, justification, and questions to raise with the company that issued the quote.

Plain-language explanation

Each finding written in straightforward language — not industry jargon — designed to be shareable.

Recommended next steps

Practical next steps based on what we observed — grouped by urgency, with cost-impact context where helpful.

Questions to ask

Specific questions to put to your current elevator company, contractor, or maintenance provider before approving work.

Independence statement

Confirmation that the report is independent — not tied to a specific manufacturer, sales channel, or maintenance company.

Photos where appropriate

Annotated photos illustrating key findings, where it helps you understand what we saw.

Follow-up access

Ability to follow up with questions after you’ve had time to review the report and discuss it with your stakeholders.

An important note about scope

RightLift provides independent assessments, condition reports, second opinions, consulting, and elevator service. RightLift is not a TSSA inspector and does not provide engineering certifications, regulatory compliance approvals, or replacements for official inspections. Our reports are intended to give owners, buyers, and managers a clear, independent perspective — not a regulatory pass/fail.
Where regulatory inspection or engineering sign-off is required, we’ll point you toward the appropriate authority. Where ongoing service or warranty coverage applies, we’ll be straightforward about what that means for your equipment.
